YOUR LOVE,
YOUR STORY

Knowing firsthand how special this moment is, and how nervous you may feel, my mission is to make you comfortable and be true to yourself.

Hello! My name is Rikka and I'm the face behind Kawili Photography.  Kawili means nostalgia in Cebuano a dialect in the Philippines. And that's what my goal is for your wedding day. So when you look at your photos in the future, you'll recognize that mild lavender scent of your bouquet  and reminisce that wondrous day forever for the rest of your life! I have been behind the camera covering at least 20+ weddings from 2020 through 2022 from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, New Hampshire and now Jacksonville Florida!

Whether you are having an intimate wedding in a backyard or an elopement on a mountain top, I’m ready with my camera. All my focus is on you. It’s all about raw emotions, having fun, and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

WHY I LOVE WHAT I DO

I've always loved photography even when I was just a kid. I was about 10 or 11 years old when my aunt from Texas asked me what I wanted for Christmas so she can get it and send it to the Philippines. Right away, I said, "Camera!"  Mind you, this was 2008 so digital cameras were the hit and almost everybody ditched their film cameras. My aunt got me a point-and-shoot film camera. It was plastic, didn't needed a battery which meant I had to crank this little thing every time I took a shot and I LOVED IT! I brought that camera EVERYWHERE with me! But naturally, I grew up, went to college and even forgot about my little film camera and went on with my life.

Until it was about 4 years ago after having my 1st born, I had questions about  my life and broke down in front of my husband, "Is this all I'll ever be? A mother and wife?" I love being a wife and a mom but there was a missing puzzle piece in me that I couldn't figure out. Then my husband just said, "Photography." And it was like a light bulb on top of my brain and now here we are 4 years later and I still love what I get to do everyday!

With me, you'll be well taken care of because this is what I love to do. Why weddings? Marriage is a serious step on anybody's life and to celebrate the union of two singular people in one special day, for me it's a privilege and an honor to get to document that special day! And I love incorporating Lomography/film photography because it's timeless plus its where I found my passion for photography. Telling your story through my lenses. Capturing those intimate moments and the in betweens and sharing it to your kids and their kids someday. To me, that is priceless!

MAY THIS BE THE BEGINNING OF A BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP
